It’s that time of year again – report card time!
One of the ways that Carmel New Church School differs from some other private Christian schools is our small class sizes, and this is obvious when we send home our report cards. To us, your child is not just a number in a classroom.
At Carmel New Church School in Kitchener, we believe that report cards are an important tool for keeping you informed about your child’s educational and personal development.
At the end of each term, each one of our teachers puts extra time and effort into providing parents with a detailed picture of their child’s progress. Our report cards are not cut and paste or “one size fits all” – they are in-depth, and personal to each student.
We believe it is important for us to put time into sharing your child’s growth and development with you as parents. We encourage you to get in touch with teachers to discuss progress. By keeping you informed about your child’s successes and areas for improvement, we are encouraging you to be involved in your child’s education and development. By working together, we can develop plans for moving forward for the rest of the school year and beyond.
Further, report cards provide an excellent opportunity to sit down with your child and talk to them about any struggles they may be experiencing, or to congratulate them on their big wins in the past few months. We believe report card season can be a venue for open communication, progress and learning.
If you have any questions about our report card process or want to chat with your child’s teacher about their most recent report card, we encourage you to contact us!
