Building Community Through Gratitude and Giving
October is a season of thanksgiving. At Carmel New Church School, we believe gratitude is not only something we feel but something we share with others. This month, our students are learning about the importance of giving back—whether that’s helping a classmate, contributing to a school project, or supporting a community initiative.
Through classroom activities and chapel lessons, we are encouraging students to reflect on the blessings in their lives and to notice the little ways they can bring joy to others. Practicing gratitude not only builds empathy and kindness but also strengthens our sense of belonging as a school family.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving with our families, we hope each of our students takes with them the reminder that gratitude is more than words—it’s a way of living.
Reflection Question for Families:
At the dinner table this month, ask: “What is one way we can show gratitude in action this week?”
